Ranbir Kapoor starrer Ramayana has been getting attention ever since it was announced. A recent report mentioned that Yash and Kunal Kapoor will battle against each other as Raavana and Lord Indra.

Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Lara Dutta, and others is one of the most-awaited films. The film will be released in two parts in Diwali 2026 and 2027, respectively. Now, a recent report mentioned that Yash's Raavana will battle against Kunal Kapoor's Lord Indra in Ramayana. Both of them will be seen in a high-octane action sequence.
As per ETimes, Yash and Kunal Kapoor, who will play Raavana and Lord Indra, respectively, will face off each other in a grand action sequence. Yash will begin his shooting this week. The portal added that one of the major set pieces of the film will feature a high-octane battle between Lord Indra and Raavana.

This epic action will take place after Raavana attains immortality through penance and conquers the three realms of earth, heaven, and hell. This is a pivotal moment in Raavana's rise, where he challenged and defeated the gods, including Lord Indra, to establish his supremacy. The portal also mentioned that the action sequence will be a spectacular sight with huge sets, sophisticated visual effects, and intricate stunt work. It will be an interesting watch to see Yash and Kunal facing off each other as Raavana and Lord Indra in Ramayana.
Ranbir Kapoor will portray Lord Ram while Sai Pallavi will play Sita. KGF star Yash will be seen in the Raavana role, and Kunal Kapoor will play Lord Indra. On the other hand, Sunny Deol and Lara Dutta will reportedly portray the roles of Lord Hanuman and Kaikeyi, respectively.
As per a Mid-Day report, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, will begin filming for Ramayana: Part Two in the first week of May. The actor, who is currently busy with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, will reportedly divide his time between the two projects.
During the Red Sea Film Festival 2024 in Jeddah, Ranbir opened up about his Lord Ram role in Ramayana. He said, "I have finished the shooting of Part 1 and will shoot Part 2 soon. Just to be a part of that story, I am so humbled to essay Ram’s role. It’s a dream for me. It’s a film that has everything. It teaches what Indian culture is about — family dynamics and husband-wife dynamics.”
Meanwhile, Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters on Diwali 2026. The second part will be released on Diwali 2027.
