Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi is set to release on Netflix on April 24

Bollywood's first theatrical release of the year Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, which garnered praise from all quarters, is reportedly gearing up for its digital release on Netflix on April 24.

Directed by Seema Pahwa, it was expected to release on Netflix on March 31 but it was postponed. Netflix’s line-up for the second half of April did not mention Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi in the list, but the streaming giant made the announcement on their app on Sunday.

Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi, a family-drama, was recently in the news after it was reported that the cast and crew of the film were upset with the digital release of Pagglait. Apparently, both films have plots focusing on the death of a family member and the subsequent chaos. Director Seema Pahwa even confirmed that both films were shot in the same house and were scheduled to compete on Netflix.

However, Pahwa addressed these rumours in an interaction with Bollywood Hungama. “Ours was an original film and so is Pagglait. I would not say that they copied our film. I guess it must be a coincidence”, she said.

Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi stars Naseeruddin Shah, Supriya Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Parambrata Chatterjee, Vikrant Massey and Vinay Pathak. The film first premiered at the Mumbai Film Festival in October 2019 and was released theatrically in January 2021.

The movie marks the directorial debut of Seema Pahwa and can be streamed on Netflix from April 24.
