Ramyug was recently in news for Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan sang Hanuman Chalisa for the show. A small clip, released by the makers, MX Player, revealed the same. They had revealed the logo of Ramyug, which is when senior Bachchan’s voice was also heard. The version of Hanuman Chalisa is composed by Rahul Sharma with Ustad Zakir Hussain on tabla.
MX Player has now released the teaser of their original show. Surprisingly, the Kunal Kohli directorial has followed the right path, at least in the teaser.
Like the name suggests, the show will be based on the epic mythological saga, Ramayan. Like on the mythological show, the teaser also promises devotion, love, revenge and sacrifice. The actor-filmmaker has also clearly spent some time on the avant-garde VFX.

It is still unclear whether Kohli, who had announced Ramyug as a film, has now scrapped his plans and turned the movie into a web series, or whether he would go ahead with both.
Anyhow, after the teaser, Kohli is now set to release the trailer of Ramyug. It is slated to release on April 29.
The filmmaker had also directed the OTT movie Lahore Confidential, which released on February 4 on ZEE5.
Other adaptations of Ramayan in Bollywood include Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, Saif Ali Khan’s Adipurush. Khan will be seen as Raavan in the Om Raut directorial, which stars Telugu actor Prabhas as Ram.
Additionally, Dangal director Nitesh Tiwari had shown interest in directing a Ramayan trilogy, while Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad had announced that he is also working on a multilingual film, called Sita - The Reincarnation.
Interestingly, when the lockdown was first announced, Doordarshan started re-telecasting the series, Ramayan, that had a huge number of viewers.
