Rana Daggubati's upcoming action-drama Virata Parvam has faced several obstacles and delays owing to miscellaneous reasons ever since the commencement of the project. While the film directed by Venu Udugula, which also features Sai Pallavi, Naveen Chandra, Priyamani, and Nivetha Pethuraj in key roles, completed its shoot recently, there is some ambiguity about its release. Rumours have been doing the rounds for a few months that the film will directly release on Netflix though the makers D Suresh Babu and Sudhakar Cherukuri have neither confirmed nor denied the same.
Earlier on Wednesday, actor Rana Daggubati in response to a news handle that speculated the direct-to-OTT release of Virata Parvam owing to 'language' issues, tweeted, "Pls enlighten me on these language issues …..emi time pass gallu bro Meru !!" (What time pass is this!) Keeping the suspense surrounding the OTT rumours alive, Rana has only talked about Virata Parvam in reference to the tweet, not adding anything more. It's hard to decode if the tweet actually means that the team is considering a theatrical release of Virata Parvam.
Nandita Das, Zareena Wahab and Sai Chand form a solid supporting cast for Virata Parvam. Spanish cinematographer Dani Salo and Divakar Mani have cranked the camera, with the crew also comprising ace editor Sreekar Prasad. Suresh Bobbili has scored the music, while Peter Hein and Stefan Richter have handled the stunts. Virata Parvam is inspired by true events based in the 90s revolving around a naxal group. Rana Daggubati is also part of Bheemla Nayak, the Telugu remake of Ayyappanum Koshiyum, where he plays the role of Daniel Shekar (that Prithviraj Sukumaran had essyed in the original).
