Ranasthali, a hard-hitting rural action drama, released in theatres on November 26 last year. The film starred Ammu Abhirami, Karnatakapu Dharma, Chandni Rao, Prashanth Pandu, Sammeta Gandhi, Banerjee, Madhumani, Chatrapathi Sekhar, Shiva Jami, Srinivas Vetti, Ashok Sanga, Vijay Ragam, Tejaperi, Nagendra Medida, Roopa and Sathwik in key roles.

Parasuram Srinivas directed the actioner produced by Anupama Sureddi under AJ Productions. After a brief theatrical run, Ranasthali is out on OTT. Leading streaming platform aha acquired the post-theatrical digital rights of the film and premiered it this Friday - i.e. June 16. While the film opened to mixed responses in theatres, one can’t wait to see if it’ll impress streaming enthusiasts.

The film unfolds through the lens of two characters, Basava and Ammulu, who happen to be cousins. While Ammulu loses her parents early in life, she later gets married to Basava. The latter takes up job under a man named Chakravarthy, who asks him to take care of the stay of his four workers. Before Basava realises their true identies, they kill Chakravarthy and Ammulu. Where’s the tale headed later?

Actors Shiva, the antagonist, and the supporting cast including Benarjee, Madhumani, Chandrasekhar, Prashanth Pandu and Srinivas Vetti received rave reviews for their performances. Jasti Balaji is the cinematographer of the film while Kesava Kiran scored the music. Bhuvan Chandhar is the editor and Karthik Sujeet is the art director.

Dragon Prakash is the stunt director and Lakshmi Jyothi Srinivas is the co-producer. The film has a runtime of 140 minutes and is high on emotions and violence. aha’s recent releases include the web show Newsense, Addateegala, MenToo, Puli: The 19th Century, Emi Sethura Linga. The streamer also released an ad-film titled Arjun Leela, directed by Trivikram, starring Allu Arjun, Sreeleela.
