Ranbir Kapoor and Bobby Deol were promoting their upcoming film Animal
Ranbir Kapoor is currently promoting his upcoming movie Animal with the antagonist of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial, Bobby Deol. At a recent event, Ranbir joined in the trend of addressing Bobby as more than his name. He called Bobby ‘Lord Bobby’ as well as ‘DJ Bobby’ in the same breath. This invoked a reaction from Bobby himself and it was hilarious!
Ranbir calls Bobby ‘Lord Bobby’ and ‘DJ Bobby’
Ranbir appealed to his fans to watch Animal in theatres on December 1 during a promotional event. The leading actor of the film then went on to give the mic to his co-star from the movie, Bobby Deol. “I’ll now transfer the mic to Lord Bobby, DJ Bobby,” he then said. That made Bobby close his eyes in embarrassment, roll them and laugh it off. Bobby then went on to talk to the crowd among the hooting, while Ranbir personally interacted with a lucky fan. Bobby passed on the same message – of watching their film in theatres on December but he re-enacted his scene from the teaser while doing so.
Why is Bobby Deol called Lord Bobby
The name Lord Bobby is a term discovered on social media. Many Boobians (yes, that is what Bobby Deol fans are called) digged out content from Bobby Deol’s old films and called them futuristic. From using airpods in 2008 to doing the COVID test in 1997, he has been the centre of memes ever since but they are not just any memes, they are the epic ones!
And what got him the title of DJ Bobby?
Bobby Deol had once turned a DJ in a club. He played the songs from his movie Gupt, which was all good, till he decided to play them on loop and leave the party. People in the club were left complaining and asked for refund. When the story broke out in the media, Bobby got popularly known as DJ Bobby. The two tags – Lord Bobby as well as DJ Bobby – are now stuck with the actor for life.
