The Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has added Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, the first instalment of the trilogy and Ayan Mukerji's magnum opus, to its global theatrical release schedule for 2022, which also includes Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Avatar: The Way of Water. Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni are among the cast members.
Earlier, as per reports, Mukerji claimed that Kapoor's character was inspired by Rumi, who also inspired his character's original look. To develop the foundation of the film, the filmmaker drew inspiration from Rumi's work that love is the bridge between you and everything. Mukerji then disclosed that Kapoor's Rumi-inspired appearance had been ditched in favour of a haircut.
Kapoor opened up about his experience with the film's aesthetic tests, saying it's a tedious work, adhering, removing, applying, and applying again, until some choice is achieved.
Pritam will compose the film's music, while Amitabh Bhattacharya will provide the lyrics. The first single, Kesariya, sung by Arijit Singh, was released on April 10, 2022. The teaser for the song was released three days later.
The tale is structured as a trilogy based on Indian mythology, with the first section following the protagonist Shiva (Kapoor), who is in love with Isha (Bhatt). When Shiva discovers that he has a secret connection to the Brahmastra and a vast power within him, he doesn't fully comprehend the power of fire, and their lives are forever changed. Shiva's adventures as he walks into the domain of Astras and realises his destiny as the universe's divine hero are chronicled in the film.
Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, produced by Fox Star Studios, a division of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, and Dharma Productions, will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam on September 9, 2022.
