Ranbir Kapoor announces break from Bollywood after Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar release

Ranbir Kapoor has announced that he is taking a break from Bollywood. The actor is currently seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. He has not signed any other film since.

Ranbir told Pinkvilla that he has nothing in the pipeline currently, since he hasn’t signed any new project. He wants to take a break to spend time with his daughter Raha.

The actor shares that no script has appealed to him so far. He is at that stage where he doesn’t want to sign films just to make more money.

“I am in my 16th year now so I just want to be busy, I want to work with inspiration and with love,” Ranbir said. The actor already has Brahmastra trilogy, apart from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. While the first installment of Brahmastra has released in theatres, he will also be seen as Shiva in part 2 and 3.

Ranbir revealed that Ayan is currently writing the script of the movie. He expects to get back on shoot for the movie by the end of this year or start of next year.

Brahmastra also stars Ranbir’s wife Alia Bhatt as the female lead. She plays the role of Isha in the film.

The first installment saw Shah Rukh Khan in a cameo appearance along with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna in pivotal roles. The second installment in expected to feature Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles with Ranbir and Alia.

Animal is expected to release in theatres on August 11, 2023. The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.
