Ranbir Kapoor calls Alia Bhatt a ‘fantastic’ actor : She is right up there among the best

Ranbir Kapoor seems to be having a splendid year of late. The actor is gearing up to make his rip-roaring comeback to the big screen with Karan Malhotra’s Shamshera. This year also saw the actor achieve some milestones in his personal life as well. Not only did Ranbir tie the knot with beau Alia Bhatt this year, the duo also announced that they are pregnant with their first child as well. The couple will be seen sharing the screen in their first major onscreen collaboration in the film Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukherji. Ranbir recently opened up about working with Alia on the film.

In conversation with TOI, Ranbir spoke of how Alia tried to put the film before anything else. The actor talked about how Alia tried her best to make the film better, and how it was ‘all about the film’ for her. Calling the actress a ‘team player’, Ranbir said that it was an ‘amazing’ experience to work with her. “Alia is a fantastic actor and she is right up there and among the best”, he said.

The actor went on to talk about how most actors felt that success entails not thinking about oneself and not becoming selfish. Ranbir said that working alongside the best talents in the business helped him to better himself. It helped him become more alert and be better at his craft.

In addition to Ranbir and Alia, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in prominent roles. The film is slated for release on September 9 this year.

Meanwhile Ranbir’s Shamshera, also starring Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, will hit the big screen on July 22. Alia’s next on screen outing comes in the form of the Netflix film Darlings, which will see her share the screen with Shefali Shah, Vijay Varma and Roshan Mathew. The film will be released on August 5.
