Ranbir Kapoor had recently gone live for his fans. The actor discusses his upcoming film Animal, among many things. During the interaction, Ranbir revealed that Animal is the darkest film of his life. He then shares that he doesn’t understand the dark psyche of his film’s character.

Ranbir on why he finds Animal his darkest film

Ranbir has often said that he finds Animal his darkest film. He has now revealed the reason in depth.

“It’s the darkest film I’ve done because I’m not playing any psycho killer in it. The character, his mind and the way he operates – his psyche – is very dark. It’s not somebody that I am or can relate to,” Ranbir said, adding that he found the character interesting since it was new and original.

On working with Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Ranbir has collaborated with Sandeep Reddy Vanga for the first time. This is also the second Bollywood film of Sandeep, after Kabir Singh, featuring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. Animal stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.

While talking about working with Sandeep, Ranbir called him an original director who has nothing referenced in his films. He found his character very new and added, “I learned a lot about heroism, characters and a grey character like this.”

More about Animal

Animal also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. While Anil plays Ranbir’s father in the film, Bobby is the antagonist. The movie will release in theatres on December 1. It will clash in theatres with Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur, featuring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.

Ranbir’s most memorable performance

During the same interaction, Ranbir revealed his most memorable performance. He shared that he loved working in Wake Up Sid! Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film was a coming-of-age movie that saw Sid grow from a laidback boy to a man who chases his dreams. Wake Up Sid! starred Konkona Sen Sharma as the female lead.
