Brahmastra will hit the screens on September 9 and promotions for the same had begun. Ranbir Kapoor, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and renowned filmmaker SS Rajamouli attended the promotional event in Chennai on August 24. Ranbir Kapoor ate a delicious South Indian meal on a banana leaf after interacting with fans.

SS Rajamouli, who made the Baahubali franchise, addressed the crowd in Chennai, saying, "Brahmastra is the result of many years of hard work. Astras have been mentioned in our Puranas. In this film, we will see them in a different dimension."

Speaking about the Brahmastra director, Ayan Mukherji, Rajamouli said, he created a hero with struggles and limited powers, as well as a more powerful villain. "The film teaches us that love triumphs over all."

The RRR director, further, stated that Ayan was still fine-tuning the final version, which is why he was unable to attend the Chennai event.

Ranbir Kapoor said it was a privilege to be in Chennai. Complimenting Ayan, he said, "I've known him since he was a small child, and he worked every day for a decade to make this project a reality. It was lovely to collaborate with Amitabh Bachchan and Nagarjuna."

Regarding Alia Bhatt, Ranbir stated, "Our love story began with this movie. We're now married and expecting our first child. I can't wait to see Brahmastra with you all."

The fantasy adventure is one of Bollywood's most underutilised and risky genres, given that such films require large budgets, but Mukerji said his love for the genre and mythology inspired him to take on the challenge.

The filmmaker, best known for his youthful, slice-of-life dramas like Wake Up Sid and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, said Brahmastra allowed him to combine ancient Indian culture and spirituality with the modern world.

In an interview, he added, "I knew it would be a difficult film to make, a difficult journey to embark on, but I felt I was on to something pioneering, innovative, and original."

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva is a joint production of Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures.
