Social media has constantly called out Ranbir Kapoor after a video where Alia Bhatt spoke about Ranbir asking her to wipe off her lipstick went viral. Many called Ranbir a toxic husband and believed that Alia making statements like the lipstick one or the fact that Ranbir does not like her having a high decibel during an argument, is her cry for help. Now, Ranbir has responded to what the statements are and said that he’s on the side of people fighting for masculine toxicity.

What Ranbir said

Among the many things, Ranbir was heard saying, “I am on the side of the people who are fighting for the toxic masculinity. If they use me as the face of it, it's fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what I said.” With that, he said that he looks at the controversy through the larger picture because he shouldn’t feel bad about himself because he has lots to feel grateful about.

He doesn’t have to deal with the netizens

Ranbir is not on social media. Thus, he is not obligated to respond to the netizens. He affirmed that not being on social media is a great thing.

Negativity is important

The actor stressed on the fact that negativity is very important for an artist, because it keeps the balance. He clarifies that opinions are made which could not be necessarily true and he has to take the opinions with a pinch of salt. Ranbir is also well-aware about the kind of image that is created about him through the characters he has played in movies and by the media. “It’s something I don’t own. It’s owned by the public who like or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance,” he said, further adding that his focus has been only to act.
