Those who have seen Amazon Prime Video's latest offering, Sharmaji Namkeen, would agree that the affable main actor, the late Rishi Kapoor, is the film's greatest strength. The veteran actor had blossomed in his second innings, at last finding subjects worthy of his craft, as director Hitesh Bhatia's slice-of-life film showed us during the past several years.
The audience's affection for his father's final act overwhelms Ranbir Kapoor, who understandably carries Rishi's swansong near to his heart. During an interaction with Mid Day, when Ranbir was asked if his father had imparted any acting pointers to him, he said that his dad properly thought that every actor had to discover his own style. One must learn from your errors and develop your own set of skills.
Ranbir has inherited the late actor's spontaneity in front of the camera, which was a strength of his. The Rockstar actor shared that an artist should try to be spontaneous and excited; he should not become jaded as the years' pass.
Ranbir said that his father was a man who was continually reinventing himself. While the Sanju star has quietly absorbed his enthusiasm and idea that it's all about the process, not the outcome.
Earlier, the actor confessed to a news source that he saw his father's human side in an interview. He said that they walked from their residence to the hospital for months in New York. Every day, they would go for a walk through the streets. It wasn't just about talking to Ranbir; it was also about the silent periods of Rishi's treatment and being in the hospital with him. Ranbir said that Rishi had a habit of making him spend all of his time with him. It brought them all together as a family.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ranbir will next be seen in Karan Malhotra's Shamshera, alongside Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor.
