Although Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for his film, Shamshera, which sees him on the big screen after four long years, the actor is also preparing for a new role in his life. Alia Bhatt and he are all set to become parents in the coming months, and both can't contain their excitement for the same. During a group media interaction, RK shared that he has been preparing himself to answer the questions about fatherhood coming his way.
When asked about embracing fatherhood, Ranbir stated, "I'm not prepared for it. I'm thrilled and excited. I've always wanted children. Alia and I have been talking about having children since we met. We want to have lots of children in life, whatever we can afford. She's back tonight. I'm seeing her after two months. We have done lots of talking and planning, and we've been on the phone every day dreaming about the future and what it's going to be like, but till the day it happens, I don't know what it's going to be like, but I'm just so excited."
Ranbir went on to share that he also rehearsed with Alia about how the questions about fatherhood would be thrown at him by the media.
The actor further said, "I had a few words, but I still can not describe the real feelings. I am very happy, excited, nervous, and terrified also. But I'm very grateful to the point that I have never experienced this emotion in my life; I have experienced different emotions. But this is the one that completely fills your heart. I am still preparing for everything to happen so quickly. I am scared to hold a baby and have been taking tips from Karan Malhotra."
Ranbir also spoke about how Alia and he will be sharing the responsibilities once the baby comes. He said, "Alia and I have been talking about it for some time now—how we are going to share our responsibilities, how we are going to share our time."
RK also stated that he wants to have a different dynamic with his children, unlike his father, Rishi Kapoor, who has been away from work. He said, "We grew up with a generation of fathers where they were not present much due to their work. More or less, we've been brought up by our mothers; we are much closer to them. I want to have a different dynamic with my children. I want them to be close to me also. Alia is a very busy working star in this film industry, and I don't want her to sacrifice her dreams because she has a child. So we have to somehow plan out a balanced life where we can both enjoy our personal and professional lives."
The actor concluded by saying, "It's one day at a time, one step at a time, but I have a lot of expectations from it."
