Ayan Mukerji and Ranbir Kapoor are gearing up to make magic on screen yet again with their upcoming film, Brahmastra. Mukerji has been open about his epic vision for his upcoming magnum opus, through which he seeks to establish a vast fantasy universe known as the Astra-verse. Ranbir recently opened up about how Ayan’s vision for Brahmastra was something the director used to dream about even when the duo worked on Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani(YJHD).

Ranbir and Ayan boast of a very close bond together, with the former having starred in both of the director’s previous works, Wake Up Sid(2009) and YJHD(2013). During a recent promotional event for Brahmastra in Hyderabad, as reported by Pinkvilla, Ranbir opened up about how the vision for Brahmastra was something Ayan had even while filming YJHD.“I remember, on sets of YJHD, he was dreaming of this idea which was beyond what anyone has done in the Hindi film industry”, said Ranbir.

He went on to speak of how they both had been two 26 year olds with a love for cinema at the time, and now they were counting down the days until Brahmastra hit the big screen. Ayan was unable to be a part of the Hyderabad event, and Ranbir said that it was unfortunate, since the duo had planned some special things for the event. The actor also added that he had specially learnt a few lines in Telugu for the same as well.

In addition to Ranbir, the upcoming film also features Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagaruna Akkineni in pivotal roles. The film is intended to be the first movie in Ayan’s planned cinematic universe called the Astraverse. Meanwhile, Brahmastra will be released in Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil, on September 9, 2022 .
