Grandeur is typically reserved for the celebration of the completion of a magnum opus. However, director Nitesh Tiwari sees the end of Ramayana: Part One as a signal to start the second act, not a curtain call. Even though the first installment's post-production is almost finished, the filmmaker is already planning a much-anticipated sequel.
As per Mid Day, the legendary epic's lead actor, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, is supposedly ready to start filming Ramayana: Part Two in the first week of May. The actor, who is presently occupied with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, would likely have to split his time between the two projects.
An insider claimed to the tabloid that Ranbir is shooting Love & War now. The actor may briefly switch between the two projects starting next month. The crew conducted a look test to determine if he could re-enact Lord Ram after a noticeable transformation for the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film. They examined all of his costumes, as it should be darker and more intense in tone to match the second part's graph.
This week, Mumbai's Film City conducted extensive look tests in preparation for the change. Producers are double-checking that the sequel's visuals and themes mesh with its developing story, which will supposedly delve into more profound and dramatic parts of the epic.
One of the most personally impactful parts of the story, the Ashok Vatika chapter, has already started filming, and the production unit is getting ready for it. For the uninitiated, here in this verdant garden in Lanka, Ravan held Sita captive following her kidnapping.
In this leg, Sai Pallavi (watch her performances in Gargi and Love Story)—who plays Sita—will film the Ashok Vatika passages, according to a production insider. They also plan to wrap up two songs this term before the monsoons hit the city.
The makers want to complete filming of Ramayana: Part Two by October now that they have laid the framework and established a defined schedule. The anticipated sequel is set to expand upon the epic story of duty, love, and sacrifice, aiming to surpass the previous edition in terms of scope, emotion, and grandeur.
