The trailer of Shamshera was released yesterday and created quite a buzz among movie buffs. The makers have released a fun BTS video from the film that showcases how Ranbir Kapoor transformed into Shamshera & Balli.
The latest video begins with Ranbir sporting different attires as well as make-up to get that apt look for his characters. Talking about the film and his roles, the 39-year-old actor says, "It's not very often that directors and filmmakers look at me in parts like this, in subject matters like this. Shamshera is one of those films, when as soon as narration got over, I knew then and there that I want to be a part of this film."
Moving on, the video sees the director capturing Ranbir's first look in the camera and discussing on how they should go about it. Talking about the same, Karan Malhotra says, "Ranbir is a great performer and all of us know that but this time he is playing a very unique character with his performance abilities. There are a lot of layers that he has brought to both the characters, Shamshera and Balli, that make it special."
The montage sees Karan explaining to Ranbir how Shamshera's expression should be in certain sequences.
Speaking of attires, costume designers, Rushi-Manushi share that Ranbir is quite a challenge in terms of showing two contrasting characters. "Because the father, Shamshera, is the revolutionary with very serious gravitas and we gave such heavier fabrics for him, other who has been born and brought up in prison, his attitude is devil may care, I don't care. He is a thief, a scavenger, so he has put together a uniform for himself. When you see it in the film, he is unrecognisable. Shamshera and Bali look like two different people," they add.
Ranbir further unveils in the video that he along with the makers went to set for a couple of days to shoot a little bit just to get the texture right.
Sanjay Dutt, who plays the main villain in the film, says that both the character and their looks have got their own things, while Vaani Kapoor, the lead actress of Shamshera, mentions that she has never seen Ranbir in such a rugged look ever. "He gives a very Indian action hero kind of a vibe," adds the actress.
