Ranbir Kapoor's 'Animal' is one of the hottest topics right now. The film has been creating a lot of buzz, with people calling out Sandeep Reddy Vanga for making another misogynistic and problematic film. Although debates are happening on the issues that the film glorifies, it doesn’t seem like any argument is stopping the film from making numbers at the box office. It took the movie less than a week to cross the Rs 300 crore mark in the domestic market and is seeing massive success in the global markets.

'Animal’s worldwide collection stands at Rs 527.6 crore after six days, as per T-Series, the production banner behind the film. 'Animal' had an amazing collection on the opening day itself, starting with Rs 63.8 crore. According to reports, the movie marked its highest collection on its third day with a total of Rs 71.46 crore.

Entering the Rs 500 crore market worldwide, this became Ranbir's second film after 'Sanju' to touch the mark. 'Animal' is holding steadily in the overseas market on weekdays as well. The Rashmika Mandanna-starrer is on the way to becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in the US market, as it crossed Rs 163.92 million yesterday (December 6). The film is just Rs 87.42 million away from crossing 'Pathaan.' If the Vanga directorial manages to hold its grip for one more week, it won't be a big task to cross the mark.

Regarding the debate going around, several industry personalities have come out in support of the movie. Despite people calling it a toxic film, ace directors Anurag Kashyap and Ram Gopal Varma have defended Sandeep Reddy Vanga's directorial.

Anurag Kashyap, while stating that 80% of men in the country are like Kabir Singh, said, "Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make. People in this country get easily offended by films." On the other hand, while praising the film, Ram Gopal Varma shared, "Hey @imvangasandeep please send a photo of your feet on my WhatsApp so that I can touch them."

At the box office, the movie has already left behind Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's recent successful films. There is also a sequel to Animal, titled Animal Park, as teased at the end of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more.
