Last evening, actor Randeep Hooda made a delightful announcement on his social media platform, disclosing his upcoming wedding with actor Lin Laisharam. They jointly released a statement, unveiling the much-anticipated wedding date set for November 29. While movie buffs are overjoyed since they heard the news, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged Indian citizens to prefer holding wedding ceremonies in India only.

Speaking at the Mann Ki Baat radio session today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged that the wedding season has commenced. “Some trade organizations estimate that there could be a business of around ₹5 lakh crore during this wedding season. While shopping for weddings, all of you should give importance to products made in India only," he said.

“And yes, since the topic of marriage has come up, one thing has been troubling me off and on for a long time... and if I don't open up my heart's pain to my family members, who else do I do it with? Just ponder... these days a new milieu is being created by some families to go abroad and conduct weddings. Is this at all necessary?" PM Modi said.

This remark by PM Modi came a day after Randeep Hooda announced his plans to marry Lin Laisharam in the Indian State of Manipur. Clearly, while Randeep and Lin’s wedding destination has been approved by PM Modi, it will also boost tourism in Manipur.
