Neerraj Pathak's crime drama is based on real life events of police officer Avinash Mishra

Actor Randeep Hooda will make a debut in the digital space with his upcoming web series Inspector Avinash. Ever since the project’s been announced, his fans cannot wait for the show. The Highway actor will be sharing the screen with Brijesh Karanwal who is known for his roles in Ramleela (2013), Mangal Ho (2017) and Kadakh (2019). He will essay the role of an anti-corruption bureau chief in the web series Inspector Avinash.
The series will also see Mahesh Manjrekar, Urvashi Rautela, Rajneesh Duggal, Freddy Daruwala, Govind Namdev, Adhyayan Suman, Amit Sial, Priyanka Bose and Abhimanyu Singh in pivotal roles.
Earlier in July, actor Randeep had resumed filming for Inspector Avinash. The crime entertainer is helmed by Neerraj Pathak of Bhaiaji Superhit fame which starred Sunny Deol, and is produced under the banner of Jio Studios. The series went on floors on January 15 this year but the shoot was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The team resumed shooting in Chambal, Madhya Pradesh and is based on the true story of a police officer Avinash Mishra from Lucknow. Urvashi will portray the role of Poonam Mishra while Randeep plays the role of Avinash Mishra. A certain portion of the film will be shot in Lucknow. The story revolves around Avinash Mishra fighting criminal activities in Uttar Pradesh as a part of the Special Task Force and the Anti-Terrorism Squad. Hooda met the police officer before beginning work on the project. In an interview with Mid-day, the actor said: “For this project, I had to mirror Avinashji’s accent and dialect. So, I spent time with him. When we were shooting in Lucknow, he would be on the set every evening.”
Veteran actor Govind Namdev will play the role of Randeep’s onscreen father.
