Panja Vaisshnav Tej, who featured in two rural dramas to date - Uppena and Konda Polam, will be seen in a full-on stylish, urban avatar for his next release, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga. The film is a romantic entertainer where the actor is paired alongside Ketika Sharma, whose previous films include Romance and Lakshya. Gireeshaaya, a former associate of Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who earlier helmed the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy, is making his directorial debut in Telugu with the project.
Two songs from the Devi Sri Prasad-composed album are out already – Telusa Telusa and Kothaga Ledhenti, both of which have impressed music buffs. The film’s teaser also opened to positive responses and promised a feel-good romance. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga revolves around two childhood sweethearts where ego issues come in the way of their relationship as they grow up. While they still are smitten by one another, none of them is ready to take a step forward. Where is their relationship headed?
Earlier today, the makers of Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga announced the film’s release date. The romance will hit theatres across the globe on September 2, a week after Vijay Deverakonda’s pan-Indian film Liger and just before Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra. The film is releasing amid two biggies but the producers feel it’s an ideal release date. While Brahmastra and Liger are big-scale films meant for a bigger audience, Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga will have its own advantages with the Telugu audience.
Shamdat Sainudeen, who also worked for Vaisshnav Tej’s Uppena, is the cinematographer with veteran Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao handling the edits. Kolla Avinash is the art director while Shreemani is the sole lyricist for the album. Ranga Ranga Vaibhavanga is presented by Bapineedu B under Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra. Sony Music has acquired the film’s music rights. The streaming partner hasn’t been announced yet.
