Director Krishna Vamsi, who has been away from action post Nakshatram, is back with Rangamarthanda, the Telugu remake of Nana Patekar’s Marathi blockbuster Nata Samrat. Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam play important roles in the film produced by Kalipu Madhu, S Venkat Reddy under Raja Shyamala Entertainments and Housefull Movies. The film is gearing up for an early 2023 release.

The makers have taken the slow-and-steady route to promote the film over the last few weeks. Today, the first look of Prakash Raj as a theatre veteran Raghava Rao was launched. “Introducing the multi linguistic, multi talented & 5 times National award winner #PrakashRaj as multi shaded RAGHAVA RAO from the world of #Rangamarthanda!,” the team shared on its social media handles.

In the new look, Prakash Raj, while he holds a mic and sporting a golden bracelet on his right hand, is garlanded and being felicitated with a shawl on a momentous occasion in his career. The melodious background score with the use of harmonium contributes to the impact of the glimpse. Interestingly, the film was to be helmed by Prakash Raj himself and later entrusted that responsibility to his good friend Krishna Vamsi later.

Anasuya Bharadwaj, Aadarsh Balakrishna, Rahul Sipligunj, Shivathmika Rajashekar, Ali Reza and others play important roles in the film. The team has gone for an adaptation instead of a frame-by-frame remake of Nata Samrat, with apt changes to suit the tastes of Telugu audiences. The dubbing formalities of the film were wrapped up recently.

A few days ago, a shayari written by Lakshmi Bhoopal, elaborating on the life of an actor, rendered by Chiranjeevi, received impressive responses from fraternity and the viewers alike. Raj K Nalli cranks the camera for the film while Ilaiyaraaja scores the music. Silly Monks Music has acquired the audio rights. The combo of Prakash Raj-Krishna Vamsi is best known for their films like Khadgam, Antahpuram.
