Loose Mada Yogi does the honours of narrating the story of what happened in Narayanapura, a small village in Anekal, where the story of Moorane Krishnappa is set. Veeranna (Rangayana Raghu) is the panchayat president, who, ahead of the local elections, decides to build a Ganesha temple for the village. How Veeranna and school master Krishnappa (Sampath) try to get a celebrity inaugural for the temple is what the film is about, or at least that much is evident from the trailer that came out on May 10.

Moorane Krishnappa is the third directorial by Naveen Reddy of Akira and Relax Satya fame. The film also stars Tukali Santhu, Ugramm Manju, Sripriya, among others, and will be in theatres on May 24, as per the trailer. It was earlier meant to release on May 17. The release date is currently quite crowded, what with Crazy Star Ravidhandran’s The Judgement, director PC Shekar’s Bad and the crime thriller Evidence also vying for a share of the box office.

Drishya fame Aarohi Narayan will be seen in a pivotal cameo in the film. She plays a city girl who brings about a major twist in the tale. Produced by Mohan Reddy and Ravishankar’s Red Dragon Films, Moorane Krishnappa has music by Anand Rajavikram and Suprith Sharma.

Rangayana Raghu, who only recently was accorded the moniker Abhinayasura, during the release of his film Shakhahaari, will be seen in another fun yet powerful role in Moorane Krishnappa. Shakhahaari saw Rangayana Raghu in the role of a chef, Subbanna, at a modest eatery, who decides to help a fugitive stay out of sight of the cops on his trail. However, when he dies, Subbanna has to resort to some violent measures to keep it a secret. How the cops crack this mystery is what the film is about. Shakhahaari will soon be on OTT.

Sampath, meanwhile, was last seen in Ravike Prasanga, a film in which he played a tailor and Yakshagana artiste. He is taken to court after he fails to deliver the protagonist’s dream blouse. Ravike Prasanga is currently on OTT.
