The makers of Rani Mukerji’s much-awaited film, titled Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway, have changed its release date. The Ashima Chibber directorial will now hit the theatres on March 17 this year.
The announcement came on Thursday, on the occasion of Saraswati Puja, with an exclusive still from the film. The picture shows Rani in a beautiful yellow saree, celebrating puja with her two on-screen children. In the film, she is playing the character of a Bengali woman.
Written by Rahul Handa and Sameer Satija, the story of the film is based on true events. The plot revolves around an Indian couple and what happens when their children were taken away from them by the Norwegian welfare services in 2011. The film is produced by Nikkhil Advani, and it also features Anirban Bhattacharya, Kristjan Üksküla, Erki Laur and Carol Tamm, among others.
Rani was last seen in the film Bunty Aur Babli 2 in 2021. Counted among the leading ladies of Bollywood in the 2000s and even later, Rani has worked in several commercially successful movies - including Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Saathiya, Hum Tum, Black, Bunty Aur Babli, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Veer-Zaara and No One Killed Jessica.
After taking a break for four years and giving birth to her daughter Adira, Rani came back to films with Hichki, followed by another action-packed cop-drama Mardaani 2. She then appeared in the comedy-drama Bunty Aur Babli 2, alongside Saif Ali Khan. Rani has often been paired with Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, while she has also delivered some of her finest performances in female-led films.
Now, all eyes are on Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway.
