Ranveer Singh files an FIR against the AI generated Deepfake video

Just a few days back, Ranveer Singh had become a victim of an AI generated Deepfake video, in which ‘he was seen’ promoting a particular political party. This Deepfake video was seemingly created by the miscreants in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which has already started across the country.

‘Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn...'

A couple of days back, Ranveer Singh took to social media and posted ‘Deepfake se bacho dostonnnn’, while addressing and warning to all of his fans and followers. This time round, the Bajirao Mastani actor has taken yet another step in that direction. He has now filed a FIR (First Information Report) against the AI generated Deepfake video.

In view of the generation and circulation of the Deepfake video, the actor’s official spokesperson confirmed the news that the actor has filed a police complaint in this regard. The spokesperson also added that, ‘FIR has been lodged for further investigation by Cyber Crime Cell’.

For the unversed, after Ranveer Singh had visited the holy place of Varanasi as a part of his commitment, there were a bunch of photographs and videos which found its place on social media of his visit. These videos and photographs were widely appreciated by many. It was one such video which was used by the people behind the AI generated Deepfake video, in which he was urging everyone to vote for a particular political party.

Before Ranveer Singh, it was Aamir Khan who had become victim to a similar kind of ‘digital scam/fraud’. As for Aamir Khan, an AI generated Deepfake video of him went instantly viral in which the ‘superstar actor was seen and heard’ dissuading the people from voting for a particular political party. That time, Aamir Khan too, had gone ahead and filed a police complaint in that matter.
