Ranveer Singh is poised to embark on a new phase of his creative journey, following 18 films and 15 years in the industry. According to the latest report, the actor is planning to start his own production firm this year and is also branching out into film production.
As per Peeping Moon near his opulent Prabhadevi property in Mumbai, Ranveer is establishing an office for his production firm, which he has already registered. Along with directing him in Dhurandhar and running his own production firm, filmmaker Aditya Dhar has joined him in curating projects. There are rumours that the actor is currently working on a legendary epic, which is expected to be one of the banner's most prestigious projects. Reports from inside the business indicate that Ranveer and Dhar may reunite for the revival of The Immortal Ashwatthama, the filmmaker's highly anticipated epic film. However, there is currently no official confirmation. Ranveer is also actively working on a post-apocalyptic action film with a significant theme.
Several of the actor's prospective projects have failed to move further owing to financial limitations, and his most recent flicks have bombed at the box office. Now he's venturing into producing.
Ranveer appears to be making a calculated move in this situation. He no longer wants to hand over total control of his projects to others but instead wants to have a more hands-on creative role. Producing enables the actor to access parts and films that he would not have otherwise been able to secure. According to a source in the industry, Ranveer is eager to take the lead and work with those who share his vision for creating innovative and thought-provoking films.
For a long time, the actor has been considering a production. He had already registered a production business named "Maa Kasam Films" in December 2017, but it never formally launched for unclear reasons. It is still not clear if he is bringing this old business back to life or starting an entirely new one. A certainty, though, is that Ranveer has recommitted himself entirely to constructing his production studio. Deepika Padukone, his wife and co-owner of KA Productions, is lending him her support and knowledge as he ventures into uncharted territory.
The only film that Ranveer has officially announced for release this year is Dhurandhar, an espionage action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar. Along with Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and R. Madhavan, he plays the role of a RAW agent on a mission in Pakistan in this lavish 250-crore production.
Production on Farhan Akhtar's Don 3 is set to commence in June, but the actor is now preoccupied with an acting assignment and has not even begun pre-production, so the film is unlikely to start on time. Meanwhile, the long-awaited superhero flick Shaktiman, starring Ranveer, has been officially shelved indefinitely.
