Ranveer Singh's nude photoshoot may have made some of us happy, but the controversial cover shoot for Paper magazine has landed the actor in legal trouble. As an FIR was filed by an NGO that said Ranveer had 'hurt the sentiments of women in general' and 'insulted their modesty' by posting nude photographs across his social media handles.

On August 22, as reported by Pinkvilla, Ranveer Singh was summoned to appear before Mumbai Police but he could not abide owing to his professional commitments. On Monday, however, Ranveer appeared before police between 7 am and 9.30 am to record his statement regarding the FIR that was registered against him in connection to his nude photoshoot. 

According to a news report by ETimes, a source close to Mumbai Police revealed that the actor said that he had not uploaded those pictures in the first place and that he didn't realise that the nude photos would create 'trouble' for him. 

Work-wise, Ranveer Singh was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar alongside Arjun Reddy star Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah. He will soon be seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani with Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan.

The Simmba actor also has Rohit Shetty's Cirkus alongside Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma, and will also be seen in the Hindi remake of Tamil film Anniyan in the pipeline.
