On the occasion of the 59th birthday of filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer Singh thanked him for moulding him into the artist he is today. The actor has worked with the renowned filmmaker on three occasions—Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, and Padmaavat—and all three films have gone on to become blockbusters!

Mr. Bhansali is someone who has impacted him as an artist more than any other creative collaborator in his whole life, said Ranveer, who is credited with being a chameleon on screen, thanks in part to the filmmaker. The actor also said that the director peeled away his construction. Singh used to approach acting in a certain way, thinking, "mujhe sab pata hai, I know everything," but Bhansali tore him apart and turned him into ash, so that he might emerge from the ashes and become the artist he is today. For that, Singh will be eternally grateful to Bhansali.

The Gully Boy actor also said that Bhansali truly enlarged his capacity as an artist, his range, and rebuilt his grasp of the profession of acting. Singh owes Bhansali a debt of gratitude for everything he's done to help him develop his trade. The actor revealed that the filmmaker has these crazy ideas about what to do in a scene, about the characters, and the options as a director.

Ranveer said how he has consistently given his career-best milestone performances under Sanjay Leela Bhansali's direction and shared that they work well together because he is up to exploring those wild ideas of the filmmaker. They keep bouncing ideas off each other and coming up with new methods to execute scenes, performing them differently, blocking them differently, staging them differently. Singh concluded by saying that Bhansali basically simply found someone who's up for every crazy notion that comes to mind. That's what he admires about the director: that he actually creates freely.
