Rumours about actor Ranveer Singh and director Prasanth's upcoming project Rakshas being shelved have been making headlines for quite some time. Earlier, it was also reported that the actor and director decided to part ways due to creative differences and that Ranveer walked out of the movie without any explanation. But now, Prasanth Varma, Mythri Movie Makers, and Ranveer have clarified the same with their official statements.
The makers and the actor now released an official statement citing the reasons behind shelving the big-budget film. The statement revealed that the actor-director duo decided to part ways due to creative differences. The statement also mentioned that it wasn't an ideal time to work on the film. For the uninitiated, Rakshas was a big-budget film to be backed by Mythri Movie Makers.
An official statement released by Ranveer Singh, Prasanth Varma & Mythri Movie Makers read, “Recently, rumours have been going around that the film Rakshas which was said to be directed by Prasanth Varma and headlined by powerhouse Ranveer Singh - the duo, decided to part ways on the project due to creative differences. Amid speculations from various industry sources, the makers and actor have now cleared their stance and addressed the ongoing developments. Prasanth Varma, Mythri Movie Makers and Ranveer Singh have now clarified with their official statements.”

Talking about the issue, Ranveer Singh mentioned, "Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully we will collaborate on something exciting in the future." Prasanth Varma said, "Ranveer's energy and talent is rare to find. We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future."

If reports are to be believed, the mythological narrative of Rakshas was set during the Pre-Independence era. However, the project is now officially shelved.
