After filming Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 in South Africa, Rohit Shetty recently returned and jumped right into the Cirkus universe. According to reports in Mid Day, the comedy's leading star, Ranveer Singh, returned to the set to film an extra scene and some filler material.
A source told the tabloid that Rohit has set up a seven-to-ten-day timetable with the principal cast for the patch shoot. On July 21, Ranveer started filming his scenes at Mehboob Studio in Bandra, where a set had already been erected. If all goes according to plan, the shoot will be finished by the end of the month, at which point Rohit will concentrate on post-production.
On December 23, Cirkus, which also prominently features Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Varun Sharma, will be released in theatres. Shetty's production of Shakespeare's well-known tragedy, The Comedy of Errors, has been given a desi twist by the filmmaker. After the commercially successful Simmba (2018), this is Singh's second collaboration with Shetty, and he will play two characters in the movie.
Earlier, while talking about shooting for a high-octane action sequence, Ranveer said in an interview that they were excited to start filming fast-paced action again. Rohit was making fun of the fact that he had been aching to film a complex action scene with cars exploding and firearms firing for a very long time. The actor concurred with him, who was always up for some excitement.
The actor is aware of Shetty's preference for heart-pounding stunts that have an impact on the viewers because they previously worked together on the 2018 cop caper. The last time they shot action together was in Sooryavanshi's climax, where Singh makes a brief appearance.
Meanwhile, Cirkus is set to be a Christmas release, with which Ranveer and Rohit are set to end the year with a bang. The actor was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which was released earlier this year.
