Ranveer Singh's Don 3 shoot details revealed after multiple delays | Find out

Don 3 is one of the most-awaited films. It is the third instalment of the superhit franchise, Don. The film has been in the headlines ever since Farhan Akhtar announced it. The shooting of the film was supposed to start last year, but it got postponed several times due to various reasons.. Now, a new report revealed the shoot details of the film.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source close to the developments shared with Subhash K. Jha that Ranveer Singh, who replaced Shah Rukh Khan in the franchise, has faced a storm of online discussions for showing the courage to step into Shah Rukh's shoes. "Farhan and Ranveer mutually decided to lie low and let the heat die down. Ranveer also needed time to physically and mentally prepare for the role, which requires rigorous martial arts training," it added. 

The report also mentioned that the shoot will begin in January 2026, and the team is working to release it by December 2026.

Earlier, speaking to Raj Shamani, Farhan Akhtar addressed the discussion about why he chose to cast Ranveer for Don 3 instead of Shah Rukh Khan. He said that the kind of script they were writing, what he wanted to do with it, needed the next generation of actors and Ranveer was the perfect choice.

Mentioning Ranveer's carefree and full of energy vibes, Farhan further added, "Don requires a very different kind of performance from him. There is a certain holding everything inside that is needed for this character which I don't think he has done so I feel, for him also, it is a nice challenge to be able to do this. You will see him in a different way."

Don 3 will also feature Vikrant Massey in a key role. Reports suggested that he will play the role of a villain. It will mark Ranveer and Vikrant’s reunion after Dil Dhadakne Do. They also shared screen space in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Lootera in 2013.

Meanwhile, Don 3 is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment. Fans are waiting for exciting details of the film ever since it was announced. 

On the other hand, Ranveer will be seen in Dhurandhar. The spy thriller is directed by Aditya Dhar and also features Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and others. It will be released on December 5, 2025.
