Very rarely has Rao Ramesh been vocal about his role or performance at promotional events. While he had high hopes on Peddha Kapu 1 recently, his role met with a lukewarm response from crowds. He promises to make amends with his next release, the Nithiin starrer Extra Ordinary Man, which releases on December 8. Also featuring Sreeleela, the film is directed by Vakkantham Vamsi.

While talking about the film in a promotional interview, Rao Ramesh, who’s cast as a sarcastic father to Nithiin, said, “I play a lovely character. He’s eccentric father, he gets excited for very little things. I could perform better because of the freedom Nithiin gave us. He’s a very secure actor and has no inhibitions.. It creates the right ambience during shoot.”

Extra Ordinary Man is their latest collaboration after Trivikram’s superhit A..Aa. “The film looks at a middle class father in a new light. Many will find it hard to understand how Vakkantham Vamsi came up with such a character. I enjoyed every shot during the making, it’s a film that’ll give a high to a viewer.” The story revolves around a junior artiste in the film industry and his eventful life.

Adding that the writing, cordial atmosphere created by Vakkantham Vamsi helped his cause, Rao Ramesh stated, “We come to the set for work. But if the portion between action and cut becomes a duty, it becomes difficult to learn. You need to enjoy the process. Every father wants his son to succeed, but the director’s perspective in the film will surprise you. I’m lucky to have bagged this.”

The film has emotions but is treated in a lighter vein, Rao Ramesh said. “Generally, sons react sarcastically to father’s taunts. The son is immensely respectful of his dad here, which gives the latter the license to explode.” Rajasekhar, Sudhev Nair, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, Sampath Raj, Brahmaji, Ajay, Harsha Vardhan too play key roles in the film which has music by Harris Jayaraj.
