Taapsee Pannu starrer film Rashmi Rocket’s trailer has been finally unveiled. The highly-anticipated sports drama film has been directed by Akarsh Khurana, who has also penned the dialogues of the film with Aniruddha Guha and Lisha Bajaj. It also stars Priyanshu Painyuli in a lead role opposite Taapsee, while Paatal Lok fame Abhishek Banerjee can be seen playing the role of a lawyer.

The latest trailer begins with showcasing the rugged avatar of the actress as Rashmi, a badass girl from the village, who runs really fast and rides a motorcycle. Supriya Pathak, as her feminist mother, takes care of the whole village, supporting and encouraging her daughter to become a national level athlete. A while later, the video sees Priyanshu as an army officer, who seems mesmerised by seeing the actress dance. He asks the Pink actress why she likes him, to which she replies, “I’ve always wanted a boyfriend, who’s in the army, that’s it.” The trailer also peaks into multiple wins of the actress on the running track at a few competitions.

The table turns and she gets accused of fraud as she could run very swift and much faster than the other girls, which cannot be possible by a female. The national athlete is then called a boy by fellow athletes and also goes through a few gender examinations by the doctors. She gets baned by the association but after the help of a lawyer and support from her family and loved ones, she decides to file a case against the sports association. The concept of the upcoming sports drama seems really fresh and something that needs to be out there, which shows the struggle of sportspersons, especially sportswomen while fighting for justice and the rights they deserve.

Taapsee took the trailer on Instagram and shared with the caption, “मिलिए रश्मि से , जिसके लिए ‘हार जीत तो परिणाम है , कोशिश हमारा काम है’ । #RashmiRocket Premieres 15th October on #ZEE5 (sic).”

The quote translates as, “Meet Rashmi, for whom winning and losing are just outcomes, consistently trying at it is her job.”
