Online trolling is a rampant menace across the world and Rashmika Mandanna has had to deal with it ever since her career began. While she found unprecedented popularity through the success of her debut film Kirik Party, the fame quickly turned out to be a double-edged sword with all the brickbats that were targeted towards her in the same vein. Recently, the actress was unfairly attacked from all corners for a rather innocuous statement she made during an interview and though refrained from commenting on it, the "issue" soon became fodder to tabloid media.

For the unversed, Rashmika's usage of the air quotes sign in a recent interview, while referring to the production house that launched her, was misinterpreted as a condescending remark. Around the same time, Rashmika also admitted that she was yet to watch Kantara and that she planned on doing it very soon. Things, unbeknownst to her, would spiral out of control with netizens taking offense and even threatening to ban her from Kannada cinema.

The Goodbye actress, who remained mum during the entire course of the drama, has finally broken her silence. In a recent media interaction, Rashmika spoke about the incessant trolling and that she would choose love over hate even in this case.

"The world doesn't know what's happening on the inside and we can't put a camera on our personal lives at all times. What people say about a person doesn't matter but if they have something to say about the professional part, we will take it and work on it. But we can't be replying to every other thing and it's left to people as to what they want to say," said Rashmika Mandanna in surprising candour.

As far as the Kantara controversy is concerned, Rashmika shared in the same vein that she was asked the question when the film was only a couple of days into the release and that she later found time to watch the film. "I did watch the film today and even sent a message across to the team. I got a prompt reply in the form a Thank You," she adds.

But has she been banned by the producers here? "So, I haven't been banned. So, yeah..." said Rashmika with her quintessential candour.

On the work front, she will be next seen in Varisu alongside Vijay and has Mission Majnu, Animal, and others lined up for release later on.
