Rashmika Mandanna's selfie with Vijay from Varisu set goes viral

Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the leading lady in Vamshi Paidipally's Varisu recently shared a picture with Thalapathy Vijay. The selfie that seems to have taken on the set of the film went viral soon after she shared it on her social media page. In the picture, Rashmika is all smiles, almost having a fangirl moment, and Vijay is seen casually posing for the picture. The team is currently shooting the latest schedule in Hyderabad. Varisu is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with the Telugu version titled Varasudu. However, the film is being shot in Tamil and a dubbed version of Telugu will be released.

Interestingly, this is the first time that Vijay, Rashmika Mandanna and Vamshi Paidipally are teaming up for a film. Varisu also marks Rashmika's second film in Tamil after Sulthan in which she teamed up with Karthi. Likewise, Varisu is Vamshi's second Tamil film as well, who had earlier directed Karthi's Thozha. Varisu is said to be a family entertainer and has an ensemble cast which includes Shaam, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Yogi Babu, Sangeetha, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Samyuktha to name a few. The shoot is expected to be wrapped by October.

Music for the film is Thaman. The composer, who is scoring music for a Vijay film, for the first time in his career, called the opportunity a dream come true. Cinematography is by Karthik Phalani and editing is by Praveen KL. The film is produced by Dil Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations and has been touted as a Pongal 2023 release. It's been a while since Vijay had a release for Pongal and hence, fans of the actor are eagerly awaiting the same. If Ajith's AK61, too, lines up for release on the same date, there will be an interesting clash at the box office.
