Ravanasura: Ravi Teja turns a singer for a breakup number Pyaar Lona Paagal

While Ravi Teja has lent his voice for brief segments in the songs from his films in recent years, he has turned a full-fledged singer for a breakup number in his upcoming action thriller Ravanasura. Written by Srikanth Vissa and directed by Sudheer Varma, the film has music by two composers - Harshavardhan Rameshwar and Bengal Tiger, Dhamaka fame Bheems Ceciroleo.

The breakup number in Ravanasura is titled Pyaar Lona Paagal, whose lyrics are penned by Kasarla Shyam, popular for his massy numbers in many hit films. The song was launched on Saturday by the team. The song situation is indeed unique - Ravi Teja tells his breakup story while a couple is getting married in the film. Srikanth and Faria Abdullah are cast as the on-screen couple in the number.

“Meri girlfriend mujhe chod ke chali hayi..Aur mai pagal hogaya..Nenu pyaar lona paagale..Local baba sehgale..Neeku pelli peetale..Naakemo breakup paatale,” the song takes off with a liberal mix of Hindi and English thrown in alongside Telugu. Kasarla Shyam’s lyrics are intentionally basic and generic, in a bid to make it relatable to the masses. GK Vishnu has filmed the number.

Ravi Teja is at his energetic best in the song, while he teases Faria Abdullah. Is Faria the ex that Ravi Teja is referring to? The lyrical video also offers a glimpse of the various rehearsals that the team took, prior to the shoot. The film, to release on April 7, has multiple female leads besides Faria including Anu Emmanuel, Megha Akash, Pujita Ponnada, to name a few.

Sushanth plays another meaty role in the film produced by Abhishek Nama, Ravi Teja under Abhishek Pictures and RT Team Works. Edited by Navin Nooli, the film has cinematography by Vijay Karthik Kannan. D R K Kiran is the art director and Prashanth Baradi has assisted the team with the story development.
