During the recently held Hindustan Times Leadership Summit 2022, Bollywood stars like Raveena Tandon and Pankaj Tripathi spoke about film, web series, theatre vs OTT platforms and more. The KGF 2 actor also shared her views on how OTTs transcend regional language barriers.

Raveena gets asked that from wherever character actors are coming, people are now paying no attention to which industry they are coming from. So do you think that OTT has completely done away with regional boundaries that have existed?

The Shool actor replies, "I think it has come to this very beautifully because where if you see the biggest example I can give you is KGF 1, when KGF 1 was released it was a pan India hit, but I think word of mouth and the minute it released on OTT platform, it did phenomenal kind of business on OTT and it sort of made a leeway for KGF 2 to be mounted at an even grander response that we got. Because of the fact that so many people wanted to know what was KGF 1, they waited for it to come on OTT and they saw it on the platform they were ready for KGF 2. So, KGF 2, the kind of business it did in theatre, kind of you know what OTT did for it. It was given to shorten the arm for it to become even bigger than that KGF 1 was."

" It works that they are happily feeding off each other, which is kind of a good thing," she added

On OTT, Raveena was last seen in the hit Netflix web series Aranyak with Paranbrata Chaterjee, while on big screens, the diva was seen debuting in the Kannada film industry with the 2022 blockbuster KGF 2, which is now available to stream online on Amazon Prime Video.
