Raveena Tandon, the popular film star of the 90s is gearing up for her digital debut Aranyak . Recently, while speaking at a special event of the trailer launch in Lonavala, the actress talked about her insights about the project, and said she was attracted to the ‘fiercely independent’ character of hers.
The series delves deep into the hardships of women police as they try to balance their personal and professional lives. Tandon, who will be seen playing a cop named Kasturi Dogra, seems to be the show stealer, assuming from the actress’ excitement.
The woman officer who is surrounded by her male counterparts, trying hard to achieve success in her career, could be seen meddling up with the lack of emotional support from home, according to Tandon. She also added that the character prioritises children, in-laws and family, which impressed her. “A lot of women can identify with that, especially our women in uniform”, said the actress as quoted by Republic.
She was joined by the showrunner of Aranyak, Rohan Sippy, director Vinay Vyakul, writer Charudutt Acharya and co-actors Ashutosh Rana, Meghna Malik and Zakir Hussain. The show also stars Parambrata Chatterjee in a prominent role.
Giving more depth to the character, Tandon further spoke about the background in which the cop is created. Emotional support is something without which anyone can’t survive, and there are many women who are not lucky enough to get the same. Her character will be a manifestation of that, who is also ‘beautifully strong’ against all odds, she added.
