RC 16 – Ram Charan welcomes AR Rahman onboard; releases a new poster of the Buchi Babu Sana directorial

Ram Charan, the popular Telugu star, is now gearing up to kickstart the shooting of his 16th outing in films. The highly anticipated project, which has been tentatively titled RC 16, is helmed by Uppena fame director Buchi Babu Sana. Sources close to the project have earlier confirmed that AR Rahman has been approached to compose music for the project. Now, the RC 16 team members have officially welcomed the celebrated musician on board with a special poster.

The leading man recently took to his official Twitter handle and dropped the brand-new poster for RC 16, along with a special note. Ram Charan, who welcomed AR Rahman on board for the Buchi Babu Sana directorial, also wished the legendary musician on his 57th birthday. “Happy Birthday @arrahman sir, wish you health and happiness always.” wrote the celebrated actor on his Twitter post.

Director Buchi Babu Sana, on the other hand, shared the new poster of the project with a heartfelt note. “Happiest Musical Birthday dear @arrahman Sir... The Love that you give every time we meet from the bottom of your heart is a true blessing to me, sir. Looking forward to collaboratively making this film year a resounding success,” reads the RC 16 director’s Twitter post.

Earlier, the filmmaker, who spoke to a leading Telugu media outlet, stated that he was extremely excited to collaborate with AR Rahman for RC 16. According to the filmmaker, the Academy Award-winning musician immediately said yes to the Ram Charan starrer after he narrated the story idea. The movie, which is touted to be a rustic action thriller, marks the RRR actor’s first onscreen collaboration with both the renowned musician and the talented filmmaker.

All we know about RC 16

As per the reports, Ram Charan is set to play a unique role in the yet-to-be-titled film. Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar is set to play a pivotal role in the film. Some unconfirmed reports suggest that Sai Pallavi has been approached to play the female lead in RC 16. However, the popular actress has yet to sign the dotted line. The much-awaited project, which is expected to go on floors soon, is bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings.
