Actor Antony Varghese is reportedly teaming up with Weekend Blockbusters once again for a new film, after the success of RDX: Robert Dony Xavier. According to Manorama Online, the upcoming project, helmed by debutant director Ajith Mampally, is a revenge action drama, and the filming is expected to start this October.
A puja is likely to take place on September 16 to kick off the new project. Previously, there were rumours about Antony collaborating with RDX producers for a film set against the backdrop of a sea.

Released on August 25, RDX is fast becoming one of the highest-grossing films in Malayalam cinema, having already accumulated more than ₹75 crores worldwide. This success is sure to increase the popularity of the lead actor, Antony, who has become a sought-after actor for action roles. In RDX, Antony portrays a character who is highly skilled in boxing, and the fight scenes in the film are not merely brutal brawls.
The Ajagajantharam actor also portrays a family man in this film, which includes both fast-paced action and emotionally charged moments. Antony had earlier mentioned that he asked the producers of RDX to find a replacement for him after his accident caused a delay in the film’s production. It should also be noted that Antony had worked with director Nahas Hidayath on a previous project that was never completed, and it led to him committing to RDX without reading the script, as a way to make up for the stalled project.

RDX also stars Antony Varghese, Shane Nigam and Neeraj Madhav in lead roles. The movie portrays the two different phases in the life of three friends, who are known to be hot-tempered. Apart from the thrilling action sequences, the film also has a strong family-oriented theme that will appeal to a wider audience.

Chaveer - a political action drama film helmed by Tinu Pappachan, starring Kunchacko Boban - is Antony’s upcoming release. The actor is likely to appear in another intense character in the film, which will hit the theatres on September 21.
