RDX is an upcoming action entertainer helmed by the debutant Nahas Hidayath. The film locks horns with Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha and Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss & Co in theatres this Onam. RDX bankrolled by the producers of Minnal Murali, Weekend Blockbusters will hit theatres on August 25. Starring Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav, the film is touted to be a complete entertainer which can draw both family and youth to theatres.

What is RDX about?

The trailer and teaser of the movie suggest it is an action-packed story about three friends and their lives. The film has two timelines, one of which is set in the 1990s, evoking a sense of nostalgia. RDX takes place in Kochi, and the Cochin Carnival plays a crucial part in the movie. The male leads of the movie are shown to be skilled in martial arts like Boxing and Karate. The producers and cast claim that the film offers a lot of action sequences, providing a unique experience for Malayalam audiences. Antony Varghese has previously acted in action movies like Ajagajantharam and Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil, but RDX is Shane and Neeraj's first throughout action movie.

Anbariv as the action choreographer

Besides its star cast and producers, another unique selling point of RDX is the presence of stunt choreographer, Anbariv. He is known for his previous works in blockbusters like Vikram, Kaithi and KGF. RDX will be a comeback for Anbariv in Malayalam films as he hasn't got a chance to do a project in Mollywood lately.

RDX's OTT rights

Netflix has acquired the OTT rights to the action film, but the release date is still unknown and will depend on its theatrical performance.
