Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters bankrolled the Malayalam superhero film Minnal Murali. The film that was released on Netflix received global attention for various reasons, one of which was its action sequences. After Minnal Murali, the next venture of the production company is RDX, a family action drama set in the 1990s. With RDX hitting theatres in August, Sophia claims that the action sequences have never been attempted before in Malayalam cinema.

Calling the action sequences of the film its highlight, Sophia revealed that the stunts have been choreographed by Anbariv and his team, who are known for working in films like KGF, Vikram, and Kaithi. "I had earlier approached them for Minnal Murali, but they had other commitments. After hearing the story of RDX, they were excited to do the project and make this their comeback film in Mollywood," she told Saina South Plus.

Nahas Hidayath is the director of RDX. Although this is his first feature film, he has shot the popular short film, Colour Padam.

The story of the film is centred on three friends and their fights. It stars Shane Nigam, Antony Varghese, and Neeraj Madhav as the three male leads.  The film also has Lal, Mahima Nambiar, Baiju Santhosh, Aima Sebastian, and Babu Antony as part of the cast.

RDX is expected to release in theatres during Onam, alongside Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha and Nivin Pauly's Ramachandra Boss & Co.
