Reality check on Pushpa 3: Allu Arjun's franchise to continue with Pushpa The Rule Begins?

Telugu superstar Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 The Rule is the most-awaited movie of 2023. Even though the fans are eagerly waiting to see the continuation of the adventures of Pushpa Raj in the sequel, there are already reports about the third part in the works. Speculations are rife that this franchise would continue with part 3 named Pushpa The Rule Begins. 

However, the reality may be far from what people are speculating. Sukumar, the director of Pushpa 2, is currently busy shooting for the film and has a new project in the pipeline with RRR star Ram Charan. This will mark Sukumar's second collaboration with Charan after the blockbuster hit Rangasthalam in 2018.

It's worth noting that SS Rajamouli had confirmed Sukumar's next movie with Charan. “I know the opening sequence of Sukumar and Charan’s film. Obviously, I’m not going to reveal it as Sukumar could have a heart attack. But that would be most hard-hitting and the audience would quiver in their seats," Rajamouli had said during the promotions of RRR. 

The said project will mark Sukumar's second collaboration with Charan after 2018's blockbuster Rangasthalam. 

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun has next committed to director Trivikram Srinivas's next. The actor-director duo will be reuniting for the fourth time after delivering blockbusters like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, S/O Satyamurthy, and Julayi. 

While the possibility of Pushpa 3 exists, it may not happen anytime soon. Actor Fahadh Faasil, who is playing the main antagonist in Pushpa: The Rule, had said earlier, “Sukumar sir (earlier) wanted to make a series for Netflix on red sandalwood. Recently when I spoke with him, he said we have scope for Pushspa 3 also. We have so much material." 

Considering the immense popularity of the Pushpa franchise, producers may be open to adding more instalments. However, fans will have to wait a few more years before Sukumar and Allu Arjun can work on Pushpa 3 as they have other commitments to fulfil.

Earlier this month, a teaser for Pushpa 2 was released to coincide with Allu Arjun's birthday. And promo video elevated the expectations from the movie to another level.
