For fans awaiting another round of heists from Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, here is some good news. Netflix has revealed that it has ordered two sequels to the 2021 hit Red Notice, which will see Reynolds, Johnson and Gadot reprise their roles.

According to a report in Deadline, Rawson Marshall Thurber, who had directed and produced the first film, will also return as producer for the sequels as well, producing under his Bad Version Productions. Other producers who worked on the film, including Johnson, Hiram Garcia, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn and Scott Sheldon will also be producers on the sequels as well.

Thurber has already started working on the scripts of the sequels, which will be shot back-to-back. The film is expected to go on floors sometime in 2023. Netflix is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the sequels.

In addition to Reynolds, Johnson and Gadot, the makers are planning to include an ensemble cast in the upcoming sequels.

Red Notice revolves around the story of an FBI agent(Johnson) who cautiously decides to team up with an international art thief(Reynolds), to take down another expert criminal(Gadot). The film also featured Chris Diamantopoulos, Ritu Arya, Ivan Mbakop,Vincenzo Amato and Rafael Petardi.

The film had started streaming on Netflix on November 12 and, as of last month, had become the most watched movie on the platform overtaking Sandra Bullock’s Bird Box (2018).

Meanwhile Johnson and Gadot are awaiting the release of their films, Black Adam and Death on the Nile, respectively. Reynolds’ next is The Adam Project, which is also a Netflix film.
