Thanks to the advent of OTT platforms, Korean films and shows are gaining newer admirers by the day in Telugu land. The humungous success of Samantha-starrer Oh Baby, which was a remake of the Korean comedy Miss Granny, has only made this more obvious and ever since, makers have been constantly on the lookout for Korean content with a universal appeal for remakes. Now, the makers of Oh Baby themselves, Suresh Productions, Guru Films and Kross Pictures(D. Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati and Hyunwoo Thomas Kim) have teamed up for the Telugu remake of Midnight Runners, an action-comedy starring Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas in the lead.

Swamy Ra Ra director Sudheer Verma, who last directed Sharwanand's Ranarangam, is directing the film. Incidentally, this film marks Regina and Nivetha's first tryst with the action genre and the two actresses will perform stunts on their own for the film. The untitled film had already commenced shoot in March and finished its first schedule. The team has been working on the final schedule right after the lockdown restrictions were lifted. They are expected to wrap up the shoot by August.

Richard Prasad is on board as the cinematographer, while Mikey McCleary scores the music for the same. Regina is already working on two web projects for the OTT platform aha, Three Roses and Anya's Tutorial. Nivetha Thomas starred in Vakeel Saab, the successful remake of Pink, which landed on Amazon Prime Video this April. Suresh Productions recently produced the much-acclaimed Narappa (that released on Amazon Prime Video directly) and is scheduled to release their other projects, Drushyam 2 and Virata Parvam, on Hotstar and Netflix.
