These aren't great times for small and medium budget films in Telugu cinema which are struggling to hold audience's attention in the middle of many biggies. No small-budget film apart from DJ Tillu has turned out to be commercially profitable for producers in 2022. Either teams need to adopt wacky promotional strategies or deliver content that would audiences stand up and take notice. Meanwhile Naga Shaurya's next film, Krishna Vrinda Vihari, too is finding the going tough and has postponed its release date again.
Reports suggest Krishna Vrinda Vihari, which was to arrive on May 20, has been postponed indefinitely. This isn't the first time the film's release has been pushed. Earlier the romantic entertainer avoided a release on April 22, noticing the inspid footfalls in theatres across Telugu states for films in April. When it looked set for a release on May 20, the last-minute postponement has left many confused.
Does the postponement have any connection with the film's content? One can't be sure or dismiss the argument either. However, rumours indicate that plot of Krishna Vrinda Vihari is quite similar to Nani's Ante Sundaraniki. In both cases, the protagonists play a conservative Brahmin who fall for an outgoing girl. Krishna Vrinda Vihari apparently even has a premise that reminds one of Ek Mini Katha, where a guy's insecurity causes problems in his relationship.
An official confirmation on Krishna Vrinda Vihari's release will be out soon. Shirley Setia is cast as the female lead in this urban tale that also features Radhika Sarathkumar, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Satya, Brahmaji and others in key roles. Usha Mulpuri is bankrolling the film under Ira Creations while Shankar Prasad Mulpuri is the presenter. Mahati Swara Sagar scores the music.
