Sidharth Shukla became the ultimate fan favourite, especially after his stint on the reality television show Bigg Boss. The actor ended up winning Bigg Boss 13 and with it, the hearts of many fans. Here's looking back at how it all happened...
Bigg Boss was not always a smooth ride for Sidharth. He found tough competition in Asim Riaz and even later, was accused of having won the show because of his influence. But he developed a good bond with a contestant Shehnaaz Gill in the house. They went on to become one of the most favourite TV jodis of the audience due to their undeniable chemistry.
On the day of the grand finale, Sidharth, Shehnaaz and Asim were competing against Aarti Singh and Paras Chhabra. While Aarti was the first to walk out of the finale round, Paras got greedy and quit the show for Rs 15 lakh, which he says he never received.
While Shehnaaz was hoping she would win the show, she wanted to see Sidharth with the trophy just as much, if not more. She was out of the finale next, warning Sidharth to better win the trophy.
However, Sidharth still faced some tough competition from Asim, who had gained an equal number of followers through the show. Back then, Twitter was constantly divided between the two contestants. Finally, they had a face-off for the trophy.
Bigg Boss 13 host Salman Khan held both Sidharth and Asim's hands before declaring the winner. He wanted to raise the hand of the winner upon announcement. After having a little fun, he raised Sidharth's hand, leaving everybody including the actor in shock and pleasantly surprised.
It was an emotional moment for everyone when Sidharth dragged his mother on the stage and hugged her, all the while holding the trophy and sharing it with her. Previously on the show, Sidharth had shared that he has grown up with his mother and thus, she means a lot to him. A tough-looking guy, Sidharth would often get emotional when a memory of his mother struck him on the show.
After the show ended, Sidharth met Shehnaaz and walked away with her. Furthermore, his and Gill's families got closer. Sidharth would interact with Shehnaaz's father and even called him 'papa', raising hopes among SidNaaz fans.
While the fans expected to see more of Sidharth and Shehnaaz together, destiny seems to have something else in store for them. Sidharth had an untimely demise on September 2, 2021, at Cooper hospital, Mumbai, leaving half the country in shock and others mourning.
