Naveen Chandra is in the most eventful phase of his career as an actor - he's dabbling with multiple mediums, shifting between lead roles, supporting roles and villain characters with the ease of a seasoned performer. Basking on the success of Parampara Season 2 on Disney+ Hotstar, he is back with another release on the same streaming platform. His next is Repeat, a direct-to-OTT release on Disney+ Hotstar, a thriller directed by Arvindh Srinivasan (who had earlier helmed Dejavu).
Smruthi Venkat, Madhoo essay pivotal roles in the film that also features Sudarshan, Satyam Rajesh, Pooja Ramachandran, Mime Gopi, Naveena Reddy, Kaali Venkat and Achyuth Kumar in its lineup. The film's trailer was launched today. In the glimpse, Naveen Chandra is seen as an investigative officer, who says the criminal has tried to outsmart him even before the game has begun (in reference to a game of chess). Madhoo is cast as a senior cop in this crime thriller.
A woman is kidnapped and another character is being thrown into a waterbody in the initial part of the glimpse. The criminal poses a lot of challenges for Naveen Chandra at every step. However, the latter is sportive enough and takes it upon himself to nab the killer, trying to better him. "If a killer has so much intelligence, how much should an IPS officer have?" the teaser gets a stylish closure with Naveen Chandra smoking a cigarette in the middle of a crime scene.
Ghibran's stunning background score in the trailer instantly catches your attention. Stunner Sam is the stunt director for the film which has cinematography by Muthaiah. Repeat is slated to release on the platform on August 25. The other recent Telugu releases on Hotstar include RRR (in all South Indian languages), Vikram, Bheemla Nayak and The Warriorr. The platform will also stream the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Telugu, whose glimpse was launched a few days ago.
