Actor Pooja Hegde, who is already a household name with films like Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo and Beast, is now gearing up for the release of Retro, a Tamil film starring Suriya in the lead role. The romantic actioner comes from filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, and is set to release on May 1.
Ahead of this, the Most Eligible Bachelor actor has been interacting with the press. Pooja Hegde acknowledged the social media following, and how it need not necessarily translate to theatre footfall, even as she enjoys a massive fanbase online.
Ever since the release of the Kanimaa song from Retro, Pooja Hegde has become the talk of the town. The actor is currently promoting her film, which will release on May 1. While speaking to one of the media houses, Pooja Hegde addressed how social media following is not real, and one has to keep up with the ground reality.
“Social media and the real world are different. When I meet people in person, that is the love I feel is more important. But at many times, on social media, there are lots of bots. I check a comment and go to their profile, but there is no photo or posts. All of them are bots,” Pooja Hegde said.
Mentioning how ‘faceless trolls’ would still affect her since she is also a human after all, the actor said it is important to realise that is not the real world. "I have about 30 million followers but that is not 30 million tickets. There are a lot of actors who have 5 million followers but they are superstars." Pooja Hegde made it clear that one should do their work properly, and if she gets real feedback from a person, it is important to take it.
Besides working in Retro and Jana Nayagan, Pooja Hegde will appear in a special number in the Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, with the single yet to be out. Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring the music.
