Retro, the recently released Tamil film starring Suriya in the lead role, is currently running in theatres. The film, written and directed by Pizza filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj, is a romantic action drama which opened to mixed reviews upon its release. As per latest reports, Retro is expected to release a month after its theatrical release on Netflix. Here is where and when you can expect Retro to stream.

We had earlier reported that the post-theatrical streaming rights of Suriya’s film Retro, are with Netflix. The streaming giant had announced Retro to be part of its content slate earlier this year. The film released in theatres on May 1 and is currently running in theatres. As per the latest reports, Retro will begin streaming on Netflix from May 31.

Retro is written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj, marking his collaboration with the Ayan actor for the first time. The film also features actors Pooja Hegde of Ala Vaikunthapurramloo fame, Joju George, Jayaram, Karunas, Nasser, and others in important roles.

Retro revolves around Paari Vel who is an adopted son of a gangster who detests him. After choosing to leave the violent ways in the past in order to marry his lover, Paari gets pulled into his old ways, making him the chosen one to protect his ancestors who now live in an island tormented by a dictator. The film is produced by Suriya and Jyotika under 2D Entertainment and has music by Santhosh Narayanan. It opened to mixed reviews upon its release.
